Teaching Yoga to Children: Beyond Basics - ONLINE!

Advance your teaching and deepen your knowledge

Yoga and Child Development.png

A continuation of our Foundations training, this course is for yoga teachers who have completed a weekend teacher training from any of the many wonderful children’s yoga organizations out there, yoga teachers looking to inspire their teaching and find their unique voice, or educators and therapists who use yoga and mindfulness regularly in their teaching/work with kids.

What we will explore:

  • Creating classes that reach all learning styles

  • Mindful classroom management- addressing challenging behavior, creating inclusive environments, and holding space with grace and confidence

  • Exploration of physical and energetic anatomy, both for the design of your classes and the enrichment of your students

  • Yoga philosophy and how to translate the lessons to youth

  • Trauma sensitive teaching

  • Creating dynamic and well-rounded monthly curriculums to deepen the effectiveness of your classes

  • Finding your voice and understanding your strengths as a teacher

  • A discussion on ethical, authentic business practices

All of these subjects will be explored within the supportive community of your fellow participants under the guidance of our beloved expert, Christyn! We will workshop and grow together. The training is intentionally kept small so that we can decide upon the depth in which we dive into the subject matter as a collective- a truly collaborative experience.

    Course Requirements

5 hours of Self Guided Learning -  A series of professionally produced webinars, articles, and self-study activities that you can come back to again and again throughout the course and your teaching journey. Participants can learn from these on their own time, creating the flexibility needed when learning from home. The material will be addressed in group sessions to make sure that any questions are answered.

3 Saturday Immersions -  We will meet for 5 hours for a combination of discussion, practice, breakout session work, and creation.

4 Workshops -  These 2.5 hours sessions will be a chance to dive deeper into subjects and specific age groups. Two options for times are offered for these, ensuring small group collaborative learning.

Final Group Project and Group Teaching - Collaborate with a small group on your final project: creating a dynamic curriculum for 1 month of classes for each age group and co-lead a class together.   This is an amazing opportunity to synthesize the information that you have acquired and gain a deeper understanding of the material as you put it into practice.
